AWS Well Architected Framework Review

The Well-Architected Framework Review is a tool developed by AWS to assist cloud architects in designing and optimizing secure, high-performance, resilient, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure for their applications.

Enhance and expedite the efficiency of your cloud infrastructure by leveraging an AWS Well-Architected Framework Review

Unlocking accelerated digital innovation, reducing upfront costs, gaining access to cutting-edge infrastructure similar to security-focused entities such as the Department of Defense and CapitalOne, and achieving global scalability in mere minutes.

Migrating workloads to the cloud is one aspect, but thoroughly assessing their optimization for cloud efficiency is another challenge. Once you’ve embraced the cloud, ensuring you are maximizing its advantages becomes crucial, and that’s where an Innovative Well-Architected Review proves valuable.

key Features

Operational Excellence

This pillar emphasizes the efficient management and operation of the cloud environment. It involves automating tasks, continuously improving processes, and monitoring the system to identify areas of optimization and maintain a well-run infrastructure.

Security

Security is a critical pillar that focuses on safeguarding the cloud environment and its data. It involves implementing best practices to protect against potential threats, ensuring data privacy, managing access controls, and adhering to compliance standards.

Cost Optimization

This pillar is about optimizing the costs associated with the cloud architecture. It involves identifying areas of cost inefficiency, eliminating unnecessary expenses, and making cost-effective decisions while ensuring the required performance and scalability.

Performance Efficiency

Performance Efficiency aims to deliver optimal performance for workloads and applications in the cloud. It involves selecting appropriate resources, using caching mechanisms, and fine-tuning configurations to achieve high performance and responsiveness.

Reliability

Reliability ensures that the cloud architecture can operate dependably and consistently, even in the face of failures. This pillar focuses on designing fault-tolerant systems, implementing backup and recovery procedures, and reducing downtime

Sustainability

The Sustainability pillar pertains to designing cloud solutions that align with environmental and business sustainability goals. This includes efficient resource utilization, minimizing waste, and adopting eco-friendly practices in the cloud infrastructure.

How does an AWS Well-Architected Framework Review work ?

To initiate the AWS Well-Architected Framework Review, you must electronically sign a statement of work at least three days before the scheduled review. Failure to complete this step will result in automatic cancellation, necessitating rescheduling.

The comprehensive Well-Architected Framework Review is priced at $5,000 USD and encompasses all stages of the engagement, including the initial review, tool evaluation, findings and remediation recommendations, as well as assistance with AWS funding. An upfront payment of $2,500 USD will be collected at the beginning of the engagement, and the remaining $2,500 USD will be collected after the completion and review of the remediation of critical items (45% of the identified issues). Additionally, upon concluding the project, we will support you in obtaining AWS funds to aid with the remaining remediations. This funding will be issued in the form of a $5,000 USD AWS credit code, which can be applied to your AWS account, contingent upon completing a customer satisfaction survey for the project.

01

Engage with an AWS Solutions Architect: To get started, you can engage with an AWS Solutions Architect or a partner with AWS Well-Architected expertise. They will work with you to understand your workload’s architecture and requirements.

1-2 hours

02

Workload Discovery and Information Gathering: The Solutions Architect will gather information about your workload, including the business objectives, architecture diagrams, resource configurations, usage patterns, and any existing documentation.

2-3 hours

03

Review against Well-Architected Pillars: The Solutions Architect will assess your workload against the six pillars of the Well-Architected Framework. They will identify any potential architectural issues, areas of improvement, and best practices that can be applied.

30min- 1hour

04

Recommendations and Action Plan: Based on the review, the Solutions Architect will provide a detailed report with recommendations and best practices tailored to your workload’s specific needs. The report will include suggested improvements to enhance each of the six pillars.

1-2 hours

05

Implementation and Optimization: After receiving the report, you can work on implementing the recommended changes to improve your workload’s architecture. AWS provides various tools and services to help you optimize your resources and performance efficiently.

1-2 hours

06

Continuous Improvement: The Well-Architected Framework is not a one-time process. It is designed to encourage ongoing review and optimization of your workload. You can periodically conduct reviews to ensure your architecture remains aligned with best practices as your workload evolves.
